1898. A young Afghan cameleer, American prospector and mysterious Irish woman match wits to smuggle a giant gold nugget out of Australia’s desert interior.

THE INTERIOR is an ‘outback’ adventure set during Western Australia’s revered 1890’s gold rush, telling the untold story of Australia’s little known ‘Ghan’ cameleers. Employed in their thousands by the British Empire, the Ghans and their camels opened up Australia’s otherwise impenetrable desert interior, creating the foundational infrastructure (telegraph line, railroad, roads) that connected the colonies and paved the way for federation in 1901. It is an injustice that this history remains largely unknown.
